Kagoshi stopped running, trying to catch her breath. "Wait," she said slowly,"That guy has my money." Groaning at herself, she started running full speed back towards the city quietly. She ran up to Bunaka. He turned around quickly, and she punched him in the stomach. As he was falling, she grabbed his pouch of money. When he landed on the ground, she said simply, "Thank you!" and ran off before he could do any damage to her.

\\ Slow DOWN TMM. You can't make a character who is impossibly fast and strong and then just have her BEAT UP my guys!? Defeats the purpose of roleplaying with other people when you're character doesn't need us. Besides, if Kagoshi (now called Ichigo?) IS so strong, I'll just have to make my characters impossibly smart...
"Reckless!!!" yelled Bunaka after the girl ran. Straining under the pain in his gut, he stood. "I would have GIVEN you the money had you only asked!" he shouted into the night.
"...Welp I'm done for tonight," he muttered as he turned and kept walking into the city. Meeting such a rude girl and then being hit by her made him very uninterested in continuing his search. He entered the nearest tavern and payed for a room with Kagoshi's money. A smile returned to his face.
"Keep your friends close, but your money closer," he said to the inn keep as he removed the coins from a hidden pocket he had on the inside of his tunic. "Oh and, keep the change," his smile getting even bigger. His still sore stomach was only slightly eased by the thought that he had moved the money to its much safer location once Kagoshi had left him on the outskirts of town. He went to his room and looked around.
"Excellent," he thought to himself as he searched it for weaknesses. The one window was too tiny for anyone to fit through, courtesy of a penny pinching tavern owner and the small amount of money. The room had a bed and a chair and a decent lock on the door. He locked it and jammed the chair under the nob. He removed his traveling cloak and tossed it on the chair and then turned to the bed.
"'Course, now I'm penniless in this city again," sighed Bunaka as he sat himself on the rock hard mattress. He then set to work polishing his knuckle blades, and waited for the sun.

(Hm, sorry. Ichigo is my other OC, and I must've got confused ^^ . Ok, you have to look at the situation from Kago's shoes. Her friend just majorly ditches her, she's frustrated because she can't find her, and some harrassive guy just comes and steals her money. Plus, he harrasses her. And about her being strong and fast, look at her father. Did you even read my intro? He's a WAR STRATEGIST. He owns a MANSION.Which means,he could afford super good training. Not to mention teaching her himself. And plus, she's inherited his brains, so you can guess she's not AS STUPID as you think. It's logic, dude.Go figure. PS: I'm kinda ticked off because I've had a link to my pics of Jin, Aear, and Kagoshi on my Sig for at least half a week, and no one' s commented. That is really depressing.)

(Sorry its taken so long guys. I was having some serious writers block. *grumbles at Pyro for putting me in such an awkward position* Just kidding! : ) Anyway, I hope you like it!)
Aear’s first reaction was a swift smack to her own forehead. She was afraid something like this would happen. She had started too big, to flash. All she wanted to do was impress him! Now she had depressed him! A small red mark was now visible against her fair skin as she removed her hand and stepped forward. She seized his shoulder rather roughly and began to spout the best explanation she could. “The water whip is really a very easy move, any Waterbender could do it. And that healing bit; that was nothing! The cut wasn’t even an inch deep! It’s not like I can unblock someone’s Chi.” she said. Aear had only chosen the moves she did because they were the last her and her mother had practiced together. “Jin.” she said his name desperately. She stepped in front of him and took his other shoulder. She looked right into his eyes and spoke softly. “I feel I am correct in saying that we have both experienced our moments of loss. In times like these it is hard to avoid. For me that only intensifies my desire to train and become a better bender. Until you and Kagoshi came along, I had lost that desire. Now together, we can improve and become Masters.” She smiled and placed a hand on his cheek. “You’re no stronger then I am.”
(Oh, and TMM, I told you in a PM that I liked the pictures. Jeez)

(Yeah, but you could've posted anyway. So jeez back to you.) Kagoshi walked along the border of the city silently, following the map as best as she could. "This is hopeless," she sighed, sitting on the road."And the worst part is, that Bunaka stole all my money, so I can't pay someone to deliver a note FOR me.It sucks." She closed her eyes and leaned back, so that her head touched the road."What Aear doesn't understand is that we aren't all that different. We share the same water, earth, and sky.We should stop looking at whats different, and see what's plainly in front of our eyes." PS: "we aren't all that different. We share the same water, earth, and sky.We should stop looking at whats different, and see what's plainly in front of our eyes." that part's kinda ripped off froma movie I saw today LOL.

Aear was right. As was becoming increasingly frequent, Jin too, lost loved ones to the Fire Nation. The pain of the loss still throbbed heavily in his chest. Aear spoke the truth, he DID wish to become stronger. The whole reason he had moved to this city was to continue his practice. But that didn’t matter.
Jin’s stony expression remained. No words were going to change his mood completely around. He turned his head away from Aear’s hand. As it fell from his face his eyes met hers in the moonlight. “Believe it or not, I’m not interested in being the strongest. I just want my skills to grow and become of use to the Earth Kingdom. I’d die for these people!” he shouted throwing his arms back as if to grasp the entire Earth Kingdom in his embrace.
“Your skills may be strong or weak, but what have you been DOING with them this whole time? Why have you been hiding them for so long?” he asked with fire rumbling in his stomach. “I’ve been bending since I could walk to protect my friends and family. And I’m still so far off!” a pain seared threw his heart as he remembered what his lack of talent caused for his village. But that’s not right. He wasn’t acting the way he knew he should.
“No no,” he shook his head after a short pause.
“I didn’t mean to yell,” he said composing himself again. “I’m not going to make excuses for my own actions, and I expect you to do the same. If you still want to learn bending, I’ve got a fair number of scrolls and tomes on Waterbending. I’ll return here to continue my own practice tomorrow afternoon, come if you want,” this was the only thing he could think to say.
He stepped back, and with a painful smile he said in a near whisper, “Good night.”
With that he brought his hands up and a wall of stone, shot out of the ground separating himself and Aear. As quickly as he could, he then performed the same rock jump he pulled at the mansion that afternoon. He was flung into the shrubbery and dashed deeper into the woods. He couldn’t be there anymore.
“How did this all happen?” he asked himself as he ran. “I just wanted to know if she was a bender! WHAT HAPPENED!?” he yelled.
After running for fifteen minutes, he slowed to a walk and felt a great deal better. He sighed to himself, and wondered if Aear WOULD come tomorrow. He knew he hadn’t handled that night very well. But there was nothing more he could do. As he walked home he swore to up his training and become stronger. He was tired of seeing his skills being out-shown by others so easily.
“Yes, studying in the afternoon will be far better,” he smiled to himself as he reached home. The moonlight-flowers that grew on the side of his shack were already waning. The sun was coming up in only a few hours.

Aear brought her hand back to her side. It was clear that the night was going to end on a rather bitter note. Every word Jin spoke was like a sword slash through her heart. It reminded her of how cowardly she had been the past few years. No, not cowardice but weakness. When she watched her mother die before her eyes, something inside Aear died with her. She had already lost her father and now, not only her mother, but her Master was taken from her. Distancing herself from her bending just seemed the easiest thing to do at the time. She wouldn’t have to endure the bombardment of painful memories on a daily basis. The person Aear had once been disappeared and was taken over by an empty shell. Working in the fruit shop had become her life and only on rare occasions did she allow herself to return to the past.
Tears now glistened in her eyes and she barely noticed the wall that jumped from the ground. Only the fact that she no longer heard Jin’s voice broke her from her trance. She let out a sob and fell to her knees. What was supposed to have been an enjoyable evening had taken a wrong turn down memory lane.
It was not long after Jin had left that Aear was back home. She had not allowed herself and long time to weep. Cor and Mae were in bed so Aear tried to be as quiet as possible. She slipped of the dress and carefully and returned it to its box as well as the bracelets and earrings. She washed her face, threw on her pajamas and got into bed. It was only a few hours before she would have to get up and begin her grueling routine again but she was in desperate need of some sleep. Pushing all of the night’s happenings from her mind, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Work that day was twice as hard. Aear was running on only half the amount of sleep she usually got. Her legs felt like they had boulders tied to them as she walked up the stairs and her arms were weak and she had already dropped several crates. She caught a few shouted words about pay being docked but not even this could improve her performance. It was noon when she dropped her fifth crate. Apples littered the floor of the store and people had to step around Aear as she collected them. In the three years she had worked here, this was by far her worst day.

Kagoshi sat up and stared at the horizon. The distant lights on it ment dawn was coming soon."I can't believe I still haven't found Aear!I am so stupid. But even if I did find her, she'd rip up any note I gave her, even though she may not know who I am.It kills me to see when people don't get second chances.I might as well as pack my bags and go.Or, I might get lucky and collapse on the street.I think I'm gonna go take walk and clear out my head."She got up and walked toward the forest, deciding that she wanted to walk there. She ran silently through the trees, listening to the birds chirping. After five minutes, she slowed down a little bit. After what seemed like forever,(two hours, to be exact), came to the end of the forest. There was a small cabin, complete with a garden and pond."Wow.." she smiled, breathing in the fresh air."It's so...cute!" "Hey.What are you doing?" a voice came from around the corner. It was Jin!She took in a gasp of suprise. Kagoshi looked strait into his eyes, hoping he wouldn't realize it was her, but no sign of recognition came to his face."I'm sorry!" she gushed.." I didn't mean to disturb you! I was just taking a walk and accidently stumbed on your cabin and...I'm so sorry! My name's Konoharu, and I was asked to deliver a message by someone." Kagoshi looked at him nervously.

“Let me help you with that,” said a gentle voice to Aear. She looked up, and was rewarded with beaming smile of Bunaka on his knees next to her. “Let me tell you, sometimes these apples have a nasty habit of..... slipping away,” Bunaka said as he rolled one playfully under Cor’s foot. The resulting fall was quite thunderous, especially as he rounded on Aear swearing words even Bunaka wasn’t familiar with.
“Whoa whoa whoa, Sir!” cooed Bunaka to a ranting Cor. “That was ENTIRELY my fault,” he said soothingly. “You see, I accidentally bumped into this fine young lass,” he said motioning to Aear. “Please, I’ll buy this entire crate and a little extra for your troubles,” he finished, giving Cor a heavy sounding bag of coins.
As Cor left, Bunaka returned to help Aear with his newly purchased apples. “Tell me,” he said as the last of them were picked up and replaced in the crate, “Do you live here?”

Aear got her first real wake up call. She looked at Bunaka like he was a ghost. Only after Cor had fallen to the ground, shouted so loud the next town over could have heard him and was then paid off did she finally register what all had just happened.
"Oh um, yes. Why do you ask?" she replied, still a bit flustered. She stood up, stumbling a bit and dusted off her clothes. Compared to last night, her apperance was worn and dull as it normally was.

“Ah, I see,” Bunaka said to himself more so than Aear. “Then it simply HAS to be you. Tell me, has anyone … erum… NOT from this town stopped by this shop lately?”

Aear wrinkled her forehead. Why was this guy talking to her? "Well, yes. Only a week ago a new customer stared coming in regularly. But why ask me? And who are you anyway?" she said. She didnt want to give to much away to some stranger.

"Thats him...," he said with a smug smile on his face. "He always did have a way with the cute ones."
"Tell me, is Jin coming to the shop today? I'm an old friend of his," he asked offering Aear an apple.

Aear was becoming more and more confused every second. She slowly took the apple. "I'm not sure. I know he is going to be training this afternoon. I was planning on going to join him. Where exactly do you know each other from?" she said, taking a bite of the apple.

"Who, Ginger?" Bunaka said offhandedly as though Aear should have already known. "We've been buds since I was big enough to beat him in a sparing match... every time," he added trying to make himself look taller as he did.
Bunaka enjoyed this thought, because although he was taller than Aear, Jin had always been taller than he.

A chuckle escaped Aear. "Ginger?" she thought. She took another bite of apple. "Well, thats nice. So does Jin have a history of making frequent stops to fruit stores or something? Why come here to look for him?" she asked, eager to learn more about Jin.

"Here? Well, in that area your guess is as good as mine," Bunaka said pleased to see Aear in a good mood. He too started eating an apple. "Jin was always single-track-minded. He would find something and let it devour his time," Bunaka sighed.
"I finally found his shack. He wasn't there, but there were plenty of these lying around," and with that Bunaka pulled out the broken piece of wood with the fruit stand's logo printed on it.
"But enough about that wimp," Bunaka smiled. “Tell me more about yourself. Maybe we can figure out why I’m HERE looking for HIM.”

Aear nodded as she chewed her mouthful of apple. She wasnt sure she approved of snooping around other people's houses, even if they were old friends, but didnt let it bother her. "Lets step outside first. Its getting rather loud in here." she suggested. She made her way through the growing crowd towards the front door.
Aear breathed deep the clean fresh air. It got very stuffy in the store sometimes. She took a seat on the porch and crossed her legs. "There really isnt much to tell." she began. "I work here every day with Cor and Mae. Sometimes I visit the town healer. Thats pretty much my life." she said unenthusiasticlly.

"Nah," said Bunaka without hesitation. "You see, Jin and I have always been pretty good at seeing things some people don't. Something our master taught us a long time ago," he let that last thought trail as though remembering a time past.
“He was always better at seeing it than I, but I can definitely tell that there’s …. something… about you,” Bunaka said staring at Aear carefully. “Surely that’s why Jin has as much rotting fruit as he does. Are you sure there isn’t more to you than a simple crate carrier? ‘Cause if not, you won’t make it far with the skills I’ve seen today,” Bunaka gave Aear a cheerful smile.

Aear still wasnt sure if she liked this guy yet. He wasnt being mean just...honest. She couldnt decide which was worse. She sighed and set the apple on the arm of her chair. "Well, I am a bender. I guess that was the main reason Jin even spoke to me. Just because he could tell I was a bender. He said it was something about how I walked or my hands or something like that." Aear told him. Her mind toyed with the possibility that that really WAS the only reason Jin had approached her. It did nothing to improve her mood. "Just another bender." she mumbled.
