Hey all! Since the creation of the Roleplay section, I have been meaning to start an Avatar roleplay. As the Subject says, it is made-ups only. This means no Aang, Katara, Zuko, Sokka, etc. Not even minor characters like Jet or Zhao or any of those guys. I'm not trying to get us all to write a new episode here, just good quality roleplaying. I only have a couple requests. 1. Please be literate! This means good full posts, good punctuation, spelling, etc. I know we all make mistakes just try to catch them and keep them to a minimun. Even I make mistakes! (gasp!) 2. Change it up! Make your character fun and diffrent! Give them a cool background! I dont mean make their life dramatic and depressing or anything (even though my own characters life is such) but still! Dont all be like me! Give them special qualities but dont go overboard! We are all humble here in roleplay land. And that is all! I look forward to seeing all your creative ideas. I shall post next my own intro and include setting. Your character of course doesnt have to start here but it would be nice at some point if we had some interaction with each other! Enjoy!!

"We need more mangoes!" shouted Cor over the voices of the crowed. Aear jumped up from her seat, threw her book down and dashed down into the basement, long black hair flying behind her. It was a moderatly sized room with a dirt floor and was full of wooden crates. Each crate was labled with the name of what was inside. After having worked here so long, Aear knew exactly wear the mangoes were. She dashed across the room and grabbed a crate then headed back up stairs. Just as she put her foot on the last step, the crate was snatched from her arms and she almost fell down the stairs. She caught herself on the wall, glared at the back of her bosses head with vibrant blue eyes and returned to her seat. It was the worst job in the world! All she did all day was run downstairs, grab more boxes of fruit then run them back upstairs to meet the same rough snatch and slip. She was still fuming as she opened her book again. Unfortunatly due to the sudden disturbance, she had lost her page. She slammed it shut, crossed her arms and legs and sat with a smug look on her face. In the last 6 hours before closing time she made 20 more trips down to the basement. She climbed the stairs to her room; tired but not sore. She had done this job since she was old enough to lift the crates. Her height had assisted in putting her into premature work. Seven years, seven long years she had hauled fruit from the basement to be sold to rabid customers. She was tall, lean, and stronger then most of the guys in town and some were even older then she was. She shut the door behind her, tossed the book onto a table and fell face first onto her bed. One more year, then she would be free to leave this place for good. Its not that she wasnt greatful for Cor and Mae taking her in, giving her food, shelter, a job; but it wasnt the life for her. She wanted to Bend, to be out in the world, to help fight the Fire Nation on her own terms. She pushed herself up, turned, and hung her torso over the edge of her bed, looking beneath it. A single object sat on the floor. She pulled in out, sat up and slowly opened it. Inside were three objects. A necklace and two matching bracelets. They were quite stunning. The bracelets were about half an inch wide covered by a narrow glass casing. The necklace was on a short chain that, on the proper owner, would allow the tear drop amulet to fall to the collar bone. Both held the same unearthly substance. It was as if water had been trapped inside the glass. But the color was to rich to be water; normal water at least. It flowed and danced, appearing to freeze then unfreeze, making it impossible to call it liquid or solid. She picked up the necklace and simply stared at it for a while. A single tear dropped into the box on her lap; the rest had been wiped away. She then set it back in the box, bent down and pushed it back under her bed. She went back downstairs, passed through the kitchen were Cor and Mae sat eating, through the store and out the front door. Her house was at the edge of town so they had plenty of free space around. A small pen on the right side of the house held one ostrich horse. Aear walked over and hung her arms over the fence. "Hey Terra." she said dreamily. The ostrich horse, who had been grazing, looked up to see Aear. She trotted over to her and Aear rubbed her hand over her beak a few times. "Your lucky, you only have to carry the fruit once." she said smiling. Terra let out a squwak and returned to her grazing. Aear chuckled. "Yeah, you dont want to hear me complain either. " she mumbled to herself. The sun was begining the set, casting the small town in an orange glow. Before heading back into the house, Aear dumped some more feed into Terra's trough. But Aear did not enter the house. Instead, she sat on the step of the porch, watching the last rays of the sun disappear behind the horizon.

//Sorry I'm so late Aear! But here it is, I hope its worth the wait...//
Her thoughts slowly returned to the world in front of her and the night above, just as a stranger approached. He was just taller than her with short unkempt black hair. He looked to be in his early-twenties and his clothes were of excellent quality if not a bit dusty. He approached with a calm, calculating demeanor and spoke with a diminished voice, “Is the fruit store still open?”
He was no fool. He knew for a fact the store had closed hours earlier. But, assuming the girl hadn’t noticed him frequenting the store everyday since he moved to this village, he feigned ignorance so he wouldn’t appear frightening. He wasn’t entirely sure why he was so drawn to this girl. He had arrived in the village about eight days before and had simply come to this shop to purchase some sustenance. He happened to be a large fan of the mango and had happened to arrive just in time to see the last one be purchased by a rather large farmer. Slightly crestfallen he moved onto another barrel of fruit when the shop keep noticed his disappointment. The fruit vendor promptly slapped him on the back and said, “No worries my friend. There is plenty more of this fine delicacy in the basement!”
With that, he yelled down the stairs for more mangos. The rustling from the basement became louder as someone started climbing the stairs. A large box appeared in the doorway to the basement followed by a girl with long black hair. She seemed a normal enough girl for her age. A little worn for the wear, probably due to labor she was performing, but strong and beautiful nonetheless. There was one more thing about her that he just couldn’t put his finger on. Something, stronger. Something, deeper than that of a simple girl. Something much more--- but before he could contemplate the thought any longer she had retreated down the steps after delivering the create, and the young man could no longer concentrate as the salesman started shoving mangos in his face. From that day on he returned to the store at various times of the day to see more of the girl. Sometimes she was in the back of the shop with her head bent over a book or scroll. He would stand at a distance and help himself to any fruit that kept him well away from her. Even though he wasn’t particularly scared of talking to a girl, he couldn’t shake the sense that her parents where treating her so roughly for a reason. And even when she wasn’t in the shop, he learned quickly that he could catch glimpses of her when she brought up fruit. He had his fill of exotic fruits from around the world as he went from display to display picking any one that had little to no fruit left so that the shop keep would have to fetch her. He even had to eat a dozen leachy nuts in order to see her again. Her name is Aear. The shop’s owner finally let it slip on the fourth day when he needed some particularly rare and funny looking, spiked fruit from the southern tip of the Earth Kingdom. They tasted terrible. After a full week the young man decided to confront her. If nothing else, maybe he could figure out what was nagging the back of his mind so that he could get her out of his head. He moved to this reclusive village to practice his earthbending and martial arts and his studies have been severely neglected since the discovery of this girl.
And here he was, back on the street in front of the store staring as politely as he could at the one person who has haunted his thoughts for seven days. He was determined to get to the bottom of this. “Store…open…” she murmured, as though she were waking from a dream.
Suddenly she blinked and stared at him just now realizing she wasn’t alone. “My name is Jin,” he said as cheerfully as he could to break the tension that seemed to be growing.

OOOOH... I wanna start too! *INSPIRED* ^^
A dark figure slid swiftly through the alleyways. When she discovered that no one was following her, she sighed, walked into the moonlight, and opened her hood. Kagoshi blinked in the darkness, shaking her head. Then she slid to the ground quietly and pulled the stolen apple from her pocket. "Haven't spent a day here without the Earth Kingdom GOOFIES they use for guards bearing down my neck," she spat as she viciously bit into the apple. " Oh well," she sighed, tossing her black and red hair aside," at least I'm not stuck on Father's ship with the wierd sailors. Urgh!" She cringed at the memories of music night. Suddenly, there was a small noise in the bushes. When she saw it was only a bird, she turned away, only to find herself face-to-face with a guard from the store. Kagoshi's eyes narrowed as she kicked him in the face. She then bounded off through the alleyways. "Really!" she said, bemused," Mom's stories are becomig harder to believe." When she finally saw the end of the alleyway, she stepped out f it, put on her hood, and walked out into the night. TO BE CONTINUED....... *dramamtic music* Dun Dun Dun DUUUUUN.

(It was great Pyro! 'Bout time you got to it!)
Aear started and blinked at her visitor. She recognized him immediately. For the past week she had glimpsed him in the shop. Until now she had no reason to suspect he had noticed her. Most people didn’t or if they did, they cast her out of their minds instantly. She looked left, then right, as if looking to see who Jin had really spoken to. She pushed her hair behind her ears and stood up. "Uh, hi. I'm Aear." she said, still looking around. She looked him up and down quickly. She guessed he was a bit older then herself but not by much. He was dressed nicely and his hair was in need of a brush. She then realized that she was quite a mess. She dusted off her pants and tried to flatten her hair. She then turned suddenly and walked off towards Terra’s pen. She had no real friends in the village and now someone comes to her, being nice and polite and she walks off! She was crazy. She thought about going back but figured it would look too odd. She busied herself once more with filling Terra’s trough so that feed spilled over the edge. She spilled even more as she scrambled to correct her mistake. After the majority of the bag was on the ground, she set it down in a huff. She turned her back on Jin and began verbally bashing herself, thinking he couldn’t hear her. “If I weren’t you I would smack you! You were like a babbling hog-monkey! Then you just go and walk away without even a good-bye! Gah! You drive me insane!” Her should-have-been private words sounded quite farther then she had intended; even Terra looked up from her grazing. She flung herself on a small wooden stool by the pen and covered her face with her hands.

Oh no! Ooohh no no no no no! Jin thought. This isn’t how it should be at all!
“No no no,” he said before he could help himself. And his feet carried him closer to Aear without knowing it. He reached out to put his hand on her shoulder. But before he did he managed to stop himself. Finally getting a hold of his emotions he stopped in his tracks.
“Was it something I said?” he asked in another quiet voice. She seemed lost in her hands that hid her face.
“You’re not a normal girl, are you?” he inquired with a near whisper as though saying it any louder would cause her to blow away in the wind. When she still remained quiet, he said something he himself hadn’t quite thought he would say, “You’re a bender, aren’t you?”

Silent tears had formed behind Aear's hands. She parted her hands slightly as she heard Jin's voice again. Her neck began to warm as she understood that he had heard her. She closed the gap before he reached her, still crying. Embarresment consumed her and she didnt think she could find her voice to answer him.
"You're not a normal girl, are you?" These words ceased her crying. She still hid her face but waited for him to speak again. She had never told anyone, not even Cor and Mae, that she was a bender. Now this man who she had just met had figured out her secret. She wiped her tear streaked face and set her hands in her lap. "Yes, I am a bender." she replied softly.

The next day, Kagoshi set off briskly for the square. Her thoughts of last night had faded away into the back of her memory. As she passed next to the shops, her reflection stared out at her from a window. She took this chance to admire her outfit. Today, Kagoshi was sporting a lime green-and-black Earth Kingdom dress with green slippers and a bun and headband in her hair. The dress was a birthday present from her dad. " Happy Birthday to me..." she smiled as she ran her fingers over her hairdo. She walked past a small shop and stopped. " Oh that fruit looks lovely," she exclaimed, clasping her hands at the front of the window, looking into the shop. She opened the door and stepped in quietly. She bought one apricot and bit into it as she stepped out. Then, she thought she heard a dry sob. She swung herself onto the roof and peered at the space neer the shop. A small pen was in the space, and next to it was a girl with black hair and a boy. She smiled softly, and took a scroll out of her bag.She started drawing furiously and finished it in record time, before stuffing it in her bag again. Then, she lost her footing and fell down. "Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!" she cried as she fell off the roof to the front of the shop with a loud THUD. Tears of pain came to her eyes. She shook them out, and stood up with a defiant look on her face as she brushed off.

A loud crash and scream shook Jin in his shoes. He looked around and found the source of the sound to be a girl who apparently fallen from a roof. “Wha…” he stammered as she finished dusting herself off. His gaze quickly moved from the stranger back to Aear in hopes that she could reveal the identity of the klutzy newcomer. When she didn’t return his gaze and continued looking as confused as him, he knew she wouldn’t be able to help.
“Are you ok?” Jin asked. He didn’t move forward to help. She had a look that demanded that he not give him a hand of help. She didn’t appear to be hurt.

Aear jumped slightly. The mood between her and Jin had been so fragile that even a small sound from the world around seemed explosive. She stood up and looked over. She was confused as to why the newcomer would have been on the roof. She came to the conclusion that she must have been eavesdropping on them, trying to get a better vantage point. Obviously her plan back fired. She didnt want to concern herself with the newcomer. She wasnt exactly a social butterfly. She seemed to be fine and not in need of assistance. She looked back to Jin, unsure if she should speak or wait for him to reply.

"Yes, I'm fine...for now...." Kagoshi smiled weakly, holding back tears and sinking to her knees, "Sooo.....hi! I'm Kagoshi! What's your name?" She extended her hand shakily, the other hand (the one holding the pear) slightly covering her face. For all she knew, he could be an Earth Nation guard. Why was she talking to him? 'Oh shut up!' she thought to herself.' He seems nice! Plus you NEED to make friends!' Suddenly, she started seeing stars. Why were there two of the boy? And why was she dizzy? Then, her world became black as she slipped into unconciousness.

Jin didn’t take long to figure out that she was hurt worse than he originally thought. She started talking, but quickly fell to her knees. As she started talking with her head tilted toward the earth, Jin quickly realized that she wasn’t going to be able to keep talking much longer. The stranger revealed herself to be Kagoshi shortly before collapsing completely on the ground.
“WHOA!” Jin said as he rushed forward to help her. “Jeeze, first I make Aear cry and now this? Quite a peculiar night it has been,” he thought to himself as he turned Kagoshi on her back and lifted her upper body and head to get a better look at her. She was dressed fairly close to his own style and wore her hair in a cute bun. As her head came closer he listened for breathing.
“She’s alive,” Jin said to no one in particular. But as he contemplated what his next move should be, Aear had vacated her stool and the movement reminded him that she probably knew this village far better than he. “Aear, do you know where we can take her?” he asked hoisting Kagoshi clear off the ground. “I’d take her to my cottage, but its quite far from here.”

Aear let out a small gasp as Kagoshi went down. She was glad Jin had caught her. She would have but being a bit farther back she wouldnt have made it in time. She watched as Jin repositioned her. The fall must have really done a number on her. It seemed rather odd seeing as the roof wasnt to terribly high. Perhaps something else was wrong with her?
She looked down on Jin as he spoke and followed him with her eyes as he got to his feet, Kagoshi in his arms. She brushed aside her shock and nodded. "Yes. There is a healer who lives not to far from here. Follow me." All the awkward feelings and words that had been spoken and felt mere moments ago no longer seemed to matter. She walked swiftly past Jin, hair flying behind her.
She made her way towards the center of town. The buildings around them gradually ceased to be houses and grew into large shops with apartments upstairs for the owners. Cor and Mae decided to run their business from their home. Plus they didnt have enough money to afford one of the bigger places of business. One building stood out amongst the rest. It was painted a vibrant purple and many odd objects hung from the awning. Aear walked up the short flight of stairs and opened the door. The pungent smell of fruits, spices, and smoke attacked her nostrils instantly. The place was dimly lit but gave just enough light so you could make out the shapes of many large cushions on the floor. "Hello?" Aear called. No one replied for a moment but then shuffling sounds came from the back of the room and a short, slim, withered figure appeared. "Ah, hello my dear. What brings you to me today?" said the old woman in a wavering voice. Aear smiled. "Hello Aina. Its good to see you again." Aear felt a little uncomfortable revealing that the towns rather excentric healer was her only real friend to Jin but they needed her help now and she didnt want to be rude just for the sake of Jin's acceptence. "We have someone here who took a rather nasty fall off of my roof. I dont know why she was up there but she got up, introduced herself and then collapsed right in front of us." she went on. Aina looked up. "Us?" she inquired. Her eyes feel on Jin. "Oooh." said Aina with a sly smile, "I see. Well come on in dears and set our patient right here." She motioned to a cushion covered table then scurried off into the back of the house. Aear stepped aside to let Jin pass. "Well, come on in." she said weakly, still feeling a bit embarresed.
(Sorry for the slight power play)

Aear had led Jin to a weird building in the center of town. Even from the color of the paint Jin knew this was no ordinary home he was walking into. Jin stood dazed by the weight in his arms. He was far from a muscle bound Earthenbending General. He barely noticed the old woman talking to Aear. And just after he stopped having any feeling in his fingers, Aear turned to him and stepped aside expectantly. He stepped through the threshold and into the main room.
“Thank you,” Jin said to Aear. He moved toward the middle of the room. “Er, where should I put her again?” Jin asked the elderly woman returning with a tray holding an assortment of weird looking tools and medicines. As she motioned once again to the cushion covered table Jin made his way toward it. He placed the still stirring Kagoshi as gently as his muscles would allow on the table. Once she was placed on the table. Jin looked uncomfortably around the room. It was creepy. Dimly lit and occupied by the four of them just wasn’t very reassuring. Not forgetting his earlier determination to talk to Aear he shook off the urge to leave and sat on a particularly soft looking cushion toward the back of the room. The old woman started mumbling under her breath as she examined Kagoshi.
