Kagoshi flew out the window, air rushing past her.She grabbed a branch from a passing tree and swung herself so that she landed on her feet on the ground.Panting heavily, she walked out of the front gate and headed for anywhere.The memories of today came swelling like blood back to her head.In suprise,she found her feet had taken her to the square.She sank onto a bench.Then an idea slid into her brain.She smiled as she performed a series of complex gymnastics on the cobbled road of the square.Then, she turned around to see someone clapping in the dim moonlight.
"Hey," the teen smiled,winking."Nice moves."

She looked terrified. Her first attempt at bending had end in Jin being wet. "I really am sorry. I can dry you off if you want?" she said quickly, wanting to correct her wrong as fast as possible. She brought her hands up, waiting for him to give the okay to remove the water she had covered him in.

Jin didn't say anything. He was still staring at Aear, dumbfounded. He took four large steps straight towards her wiping the water off his face with one hand as he walked. He grabbed her shoulders and with a shaky voice blurted, "You're a WATER-bender?!?!"

"You're a ... A water bender," Jin continued. He let go of her shoulders and turned from her still thinking about it all. As if finally uncovering the truth of the world, he started laughing thunderously. "You're a WATERbender!!!" He turned to her, excitement rippling all over his face. "A WATERBENDER! Show me what else you can do!"
His excitement clearly flying miles over Aear comprehension. But Jin was tremendously interested. He had always enjoyed learning bending since he was a small child. He had gotten to see a waterbender once before when he was really young. But NOW he was staring straight into the blue eyes of another. Someone who could show him an art that wasn't that common in the Earth Kingdom. His excitement was almost unbearable.

"Um,hi," Kagoshi said hesitantly, sitting down on the bench near them."I'm, uh, Konoharu.I'm 17.My birthday was today."
"Happy Birthday," the girl said gently."I'm Karin, and I'M 20."
"Do you relly think my moves are good?" Kaogshi blurted out.
"Yup!" Karin exclaimed."They're cool!I know the same exact flip, it just looks better when you're doing it. "
"Thanks."
"You're welcome."
"You're comment means a ton.I'm sad because I- someone I know had a really rough day."
"Oh?What happened."
"Well, my friend is a bender, and she didn't want anyone to know.But then, a girl she was making friends with found out, and got mad at her.Now, she feels really sad and doesn't know what to do with herself.And I'M her messenger.Maybe I could find the girl who hurt her and deliver a message to her," Kagoshi said sadly.
"That sounds really bad.Something bad happened to my uncle like that,too.But not because of bending," Karin exclaimed.
"What happened?"kagoshi said, perking up.
"My uncle's name is Enamai.He's from..from..from the Fire Nation.About 6 or 7 years ago,he had orders to kill someone.So he went to the person's house.It was a women, with a little girl.My uncle had to fling the girl aside to kill the mom.Whern people found out about that, they hated him.So he threw away his old life, and started again.He's living right now in the Earth Kingdom, and is REALLy nice.He always wanted to forgive the family though.So maybe you should tell your friend just to say sorry," Karin said smartly.
"W-wow,"Kagoshi gasped."But wait....she doesn't know where the girl lives."
"I have a pretty recent map of this town.I just made it 3 weeks ago.If the girl lives here, it SHOULD be on this map."
"Oh thanks!" Kagoshi cried, hugging Karin." I really needed this!Bye!"
"Bye," Karin said softly waving as 'Konoharu' ran off.

A wave of relief rushed over Aear. If it was simply that Jin was surprised by what type of bender she was, she had nothing more to worry about. She smiled at him, feeling much better about the situation and her bending. "Well let’s do this for starters." she said. She brought her hands up again and made a gentle pulling motion up and back. The water she had dropped on Jin lifted from his clothes, face and hair. She then formed the water into a small ball in between her and Jin. She let it wave and dance in front of them for a moment, then, with a mischievous smile, she froze the water. It dropped into her waiting hand, slightly misshapen. After letting him gaze at it for a moment, she returned the ball to liquid form. She sent it snaking about Jin; around and under his arms, through his legs and around his head, without getting him wet this time. She figured that was enough for now and sent the ribbon of water gracefully back to the stream. Aear then turned back to Jin, but her hands on her hips and smiled. "How was that?"

Jin had watched the entire display with great interest. He stood dazed, trying desperately to memorize her hand movements as she did them, but eventually giving up and simply enjoyed her and the water dance about. When she finished, he applauded loudly. Her abilities where just as he had remembered waterbenders to be. Beautiful and elegant but with an unmistakable force and drive behind them. He was still interested in seeing more.
“That was a amazing,” he said as he slowly stopped clapping. “Is there more you can show me?”

Kagoshi stopped running for a moment to check out the map.It was perfectly drawn and the houses and shops all had names.She scanned the map for Aear's name, and every once in a while she saw an A or an E, but never Aear.Then, she spotted something on the map.There was a cottage that had three names: Cor,Mae, and Aear (temp.).She stared at that name.
"Hm," she said, putting on hand on her hips."That's conveinient."

As was common at night, a shadowy figure stepped out of the darkness. Kagoshi was still looking at her map as the figure approached her. The man in the cloak stepped closer and pulled his hood off.
“Hiya,” he said. He smiled brightly and shook Kagoshi’s hand vigorously as he continued, “Fine night to be out for a walk, isn’t it? The name’s Bunaka, what’s yours? Do you live in this town? I sure hope you do, ‘cause I need some helping finding this place.” And with that he held up a busted piece of wood with the symbol of the fruit store Aear lived in printed on the side.
He kept his broad smile fixed on Kagoshi, “DO you know where this is?” he asked.

Aear gave a small bow. She had never seen any once get quite so excited over her bending before. Come to think of it, not many people new about her bending. In fact, Jin might be the only one alive who did. She straightened up and put her hands back on her hips. “What else could I do?” she thought. She walked over to the waters edge, using her right hand to push the crystal surface back and forth. She was at a total lose as to what to do next. “Let’s see what you’ve got first.” she said, turning back around. “After all,” she continued, walking over to him and adjusting the collar of his shirt, “aren’t I suppose to be helping you with your training?” She smiled slyly at him.

Jin wasn’t as amused as Aear clearly was. He wasn’t interested in Earthbending at the moment. He wanted to see more of Aear’s talent. Moving on quickly so he could be done with it, Jin leapt straight at Aear. He thrust his arms forward and as he landed. As if thunder leapt from his fingertips a tremendous sound came crashing from where he landed. The water rocked wildly from its riverbed as the ground right behind Aear fell in on itself and the earth collapsed, sunken into a giant crater. The water coiled and pooled. Jin never let his gaze fall from Aear.
“Now, please,” Jin said calmly, “Is there any more you can show me?”

The suddenness of Jin's demonstration caught Aear so off guard she didnt even have time react. She stood stunned, his eyes on her the whole time. For the first time his eyes made her feel uncomfortable. She tucked her hair behind her ears. "Fine." she said softly. She turned to the newly made crater behind her. She took a deep breath and brought her hands up. She didnt move for a moment then swung her arms. The water sprang from the pool and flew over Jin's head. It stretched to its full length and sliced the top off one of the trees. It fell with a crash. Aear wielded the whip with great precision. She then tossed section by section into the air and froze them. One by one they fell to earth and shattered at their feet. She caught the last one in her hand, rolled up her sleeve and cut her forearm.

The crimson of Aear’s blood dripped slowly to the ground. As if spell were broken Jin seemingly shrank a little. Without thinking, Jin closed the distance and grabbed her arm. He held it up to examine the cut. “Why did you do that?!” he shouted. The cut was shallow, superficial even, but that didn’t stop Jin from being upset.
“You didn’t need to show me THIS!” he yelled more at himself, as the thought that he started this made him realize how foolish he was acting. He ripped a part of his sleeve off and started addressing the cut.

Aear couldnt help but grin. She hadnt ment for Jin to react like this and hoped he wouldnt be angry at her for playing such a trick on him. She let him appraise the wound but grabbed his wrist before he could bandage it any further. "Wait." she said, giving him a reasuring look. With her uninjured hand she brought a thin band of water over and encompassed her injury with it. The water glowed for a moment then returned to normal and fell away. Aear's arm was now as it had been before she damaged it. "I thought you wanted to see what I could do?" she asked with taunting humor.

“A joke,” Jin mumbled to himself. “This was all just a joke to you?” he said staring again into Aear’s eyes.
“You were worried you wouldn’t be able to bend after so long. Ha! And now this?” Jin’s temper was flaring as he pointed at Aear's newly healed arm. He had always been bothered by that which he didn’t know, which is why he studied his bending so vigorously. And Aear had been toying with him this whole time!
He stopped himself. As he was always taught, too much emotion will ruin your sense and cause you to lose yourself. He composed his face into his rock hard alter-ego. He spoke slowly with his voice of stone, “I’ve got to go. Clearly I need to become stronger.” He turned to leave.

A man aproached Kagoshi.
"Do you know where to find this?" he said to her.He said his name was Bunaka.
" Hi Bunaka. I'm Kono.Go to the square, take a left, then a right.The store's got a picture of a giant pear on it, you can't miss it," she said as she looked up, suprised.
"Thanks," Bunaka smiled.
"I really need to go, though.Sorry!Bye!" she called to him, waving.Then, she hurried off, her backpack bouncing.She rushed through alleys and around corners.She ended up near the edge of town.

She was quick on her feet. Bunaka could barely keep up, but he didn’t let her out of his sight. It didn’t help that his dark green traveling tunic was a little large on him. Of course this was necessary to keep the two knuckle blades he kept on the back of his belt a secret.
“Whoa whoa whoa,” came the cheerful voice of Bunaka, when Kagoshi stopped on the outskirts of town. “Why the rush Kono?” he asked coming closer to her. As he approached he tripped on a rock. He stumbled right into Kagoshi and they fell. He quickly recovered and stood, and then helped Kagoshi up with a smile.
Upon seeing the scared and confused look on her face, Bunaka quickly explained, “Oh no. I’m not following you, like THAT. I just, I have a horrible sense of direction and have already forgotten what instructions you’ve given me,” he said holding up the wood with the symbol on it. His explanation did little to ease the look on Kagoshi’s face.
“That is, if you would be so kind as to taaaake me to this building. I’ll buy you some fruit. Or, if you don’t like fruit, I’ll give you some money,” he finished jingling a small pouch of coins and a large grin. Unfortunately for Kagoshi, what little money she had in her backpack was now INSIDE the pouch Bunaka was holding. It was simple for him to hear the coins in her pack as she ran, and he was as quick with his hands as Jin.
“Seriously, I just want some company. The dark kinda… scares me,” Bunaka said as he shrank a little looking into the darkness that had surrounded them.

"Hmm..." she said sarcasticly, standing up."Nice try.Gawd your dumb.I know that there areone or more knifes on your back and you've already pickpocketed me 'cause I felt a zip of my backpack and something sharp hit my leg when we fell.For, you see, I can sense the smallest movement.So get lost you stupid harrasser.And stay away from me.Or I' will seriously make you pay...."
Her eyes narrowed and she went into defense stance, extending her arms in front of her.Then, in the blink of an eye, she power-jumped onto the roof nearest her and landed on it.She jumped onto the next roof, so fast that Bunaka possibly couldn't catch up with her. She jumped off the last roof, and ran as fast as she could toward a stream on the outskirts of town.
"Help!" she cried."Anyone,please help!"

"Meh," sighed Bunaka. He didn't mind losing the girl. Besides, he had gotten her money and had absolutely NO problem wondering around the city looking for the fruit stand. Hell, he'd been on the hunt for so long another couple hours of random searching wouldn't hurt. He shrugged off the poor girls ignorance muttering, "Her recklessness will get her killed someday," and walked back into the city.
