I thaught about creating a topic where we can collect all the wisdom you know of the program, so everybody who doesn't know avatar can appreciate the program because the real good story that's hidden inside.
And they won't think not another cartoon.

yeah like I asked, here i've got something of episode 19 (season 2) 'The Guru'
i'll give you the 7 chacra's that ang had to open to become into the avatarstate.
1)earth chacra==>survival, blocked by FEAR
2) Water chacra==> pleasure, blocked by GUILT
3)Fire chacra (stomach)==> real power, blocked by SHAME
4) Heart chacra==> love, blocked by GRIEF
5) Saon(?) chacra==>truth, blocked by LIES
6)Light chacra==> inside, blocked by illusion
7)Cosmic energy (last chacra) blocked by Eart attachements

erm something basic:
the avatar can bend all elements and is the bridge between our world and the ghost world...
after the avatar dies, he gets reborn then he has to learn all the elements over again...
all this goes in a cyclus:
...air, water, earth, fire, air, wat...
eg:if the previous avatar was a air bender, the next one will be a water bender
if the avatar is an airbender, the next elemnet he learns after air, is water
air and earth are opposites and so are water and fire...
is this any good??

Uh, I actually think the Avatar cycle is Water, Earth, Fire, Air. Its just how it is in the intro I believe.
I guess a bit of knowledge I can contribute is that if the Avatar is killed in the Avatar state, the reincarnation cycle will be broken and the Avatar will cease to exist.

the cycle knows no beginning...
i began at air, you began at water, it doesn't make a difference
waterbending is powered by the moon fire by the sun...
when you take the moon away (like zhao did) waterbending has practicly no power
when you take the sun away (like what will happen at the eclips) fire bending has almost no power...
air and earth are stable
when you airbend, you always see more ways to approach things
when you earthbend, you just have to DO it...

the cycle is important TL, it does have a beginning..
umm... lets see, the avatar has a greater difficulty mastering their opposite elements,
example if the avatar is originally a waterbender, then it'll have a greater amount of difficulty mastering fire.. in aang's case, it was earth, becuz he is originally an airbender..

it must have been millions of years ago.. you would think that he or she was famous..
but there isnt really much of Avatar History in ATLA..

On the first Avatar thing, here's what I think:
After all the nations learned their bending, they were so powerful that they were starting to destroy each other. So, the spirits interfered. One of the spirits became the Avatar, taking on the mortal form of a human, and reincarnating, thus beginning the cycle.

No, the Avatar isnt one of the spirits from the Spirit world. The Avatar is the human form of the earth's spirit. Thats why s/he can bend all the elements.
